About the role

As a Product Owner Customer Care, you will own all applications used to facilitate a remarkable customer service experience any time a client needs advice or assistance. You will be responsible for maximizing the value of our support (CSAT/NPS) and the impact of our support specialists, by enhancing our existing products and building new innovative solutions. You will develop and own the ‘product’ vision for the domain and translate this vision into prioritized backlog for your agile team, whereby a professional, helpful, high-quality assistance is at the core. And in addition, you will be the go-to person for all customer care matters and will proactively manage the stakeholders to achieve your goals. You are the owner of the product developed by your team and are therefore obsessed with measuring and validating the outcomes and the value it brings. You are excited to contribute to our mission to empower people to become the smartest self-directed investors they can be.

Team (domain) focus

The Customer Care squad owns all IT solutions related to delivering exceptional customer service experience. The team integrates and manages various customer care applications for self-service, phone, chat and email assistance in a way that is delightful for our clients, useful for DEGIRO employees and compliant with our regulatory landscape. The applications developed and managed by the squad help DEGIRO become more efficient in its day-to-day processes and enhance its reliability and customer trust.


Optimize and maximize the value of the work of the development team.
Clearly define the product backlog by aligning with stakeholders on requirements and upcoming regulatory and legislative changes.
Order and prioritize the backlog to best achieve our goals, strategy and mission.
Communicate clearly your product vision to your team, business stakeholders, other Product Owners, and other stakeholders within DEGIRO.
Ensure that the backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all.
Ensure that the team understands the items on the backlog: the why, the what, the how.
Take ownership for the change and for running/maintaining the environment once you developed the solution.
Measure and validate the outcomes of your product and the value it brings.
Prioritize, realize and report effectively on results, deviations and solutions to the stakeholders and the change team.


Min. 3 years of relevant working experience as a Product Owner
Previous experience in customer service with thousands of contacts per day is a plus
A track record of proven success in past positions
Academic background Bachelor’s and/or Master’s
Experience in the financial industry is a big advantage
Experience with project management tooling such as JIRA, Confluence
Experience in working with Agile mindset and scrum framework
Experience with a start-up and/or scale-up is a preference
Highly proficient in spoken and written English
