Business Analyst - Reconciliation

About the role:

We are currently looking for a colleague to join a new Reconciliation team as a business analyst. You will be part of an agile squad, and fall under the Change department’s BA team.

In your role as business analyst, your main aim is to assist in resolving the how from a business perspective, by analyzing the change request, understanding the requirements and providing feedback to your team for implementation of the change. This is done by collection and interpretation of data, understanding of related business processes and alignment with relevant stakeholders. In addition, you are key in documenting the change to maintain a clear record of the implementation and the setup.

Team (domain) focus:

Within the DEGIRO solutions tribe, the Reconciliation domain encompasses IT solutions for back office operations related activities for reconciliation. The reconciliation squads tooling is directly used by our (back office) operations department, to perform their daily activities. Reconciliation is a key activity for DEGIRO, as it allows for effective management and safeguarding of our client’s assets. The applications developed and managed by the squad help DEGIRO become more efficient in its day-to-day processes and enhance its reliability and customer trust.


Be the right hand and sparring partner of the product owner with respect to the specific business content and requirements of the proposed solution. Where the product owner considers the ‘what’ and ‘building the right thing’, you are part of the ‘how’ and ‘building the thing right’ from the business perspective.
Understand, analyze and translate business requirements for the (domain) team
Align with stakeholders on content requirements and other business analyst to align way of working
Focus on quality of output, wherein completeness and consistency and internal and external regulations are included in the design and complied with
Perform analysis and research on data where required
Manage, support and write documentation of team output


Have proven affinity with the focus and goal of the Reconciliation squad
Academic background Bachelor’s and/or Master’s
Highly proficient in spoken and written English
Min. 3 years relevant working experience as a Business Analyst or similar profile.
Min 2 years experience in the financial markets industry, preferably in reconciliation related roles
Experience with working with Agile mindset and scrum framework
Experience with working closely with IT developers is a preference
Experience with SQL or any programming language is a preference


Excellent logical thinking skills, where you can easily connect different concepts to match requirements
Pro-active and solution oriented, with a hands-on, ability to get things done
Expert at writing and documenting concisely, but keeping it coherent and maintaining all key information intact and transferable
Strong analytical skills, that allow you to understand and translate large and complex problems.
Highly detail-oriented. Focus on the details, to see if all requirements of the problem are considered in the solution.
Team player with strong communication skills and stakeholder management
