Who are we?

We’re Innolab42 and we’re awesome!

We’re a small team based in Sofia, Bulgaria but we stretch across the globe with a truly multinational team.

But distance doesn’t make us any less of a team.

We work with, not for. Toward, not against.

And the only time we use the word ‘boss’ is when we achieve something wonderful (which is often).

What do we do?

We build and grow websites, we create content, we work to make the internet better.
We believe that the way to succeed online and in the eyes of the Almighty Google is to create good quality and highly valuable content.

What kind of content?

Anything and everything - from gadget reviews, to debate topics, to personality types, to metal detectors.

We use unique and fascinating techniques to create intricate webs of content that will engage readers and rank high in google so it gets seen by anyone who is looking to have a problem solved.
What do we need?

We want to add a new and essential member to our team.

The role involves two key parts, the first part involves:

Building a map for individual, yet interconnecting, pieces of content using those unique and fascinating techniques I mentioned earlier.
Using said map, as well as intuition, research and data, to create content briefs to guide our awesome writers in the right direction and ensure what they are writing is relevant, great quality, authoritative, and in demand.
Good communication skills with, well everyone, but especially the content strategist and the writers in order to align yourselves and the content in the same direction. (This is important as this will come back to, but more on that in a second)
Defining tone, style and voice of the writing as well as the depth of the content.

What skills do you need for this part of the role?

A good grasp of SEO and how interlinking, keywords, and formatting are used to make Google happy.
A fair amount of writing experience so you can envisage how content will flow and work together to create great quality writing.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills. You need to be able to articulate your ideas and the ideas of others clearly and concisely.
Solid time management. We work to deadlines and your work will affect others’ workflow.
The ability to research a wide range of topics and gain an understanding quickly.
Data analysis. You need to be able to back up your ideas with solid data and analytics as well as turn data into valuable insights.

And the second side of the role?

Editing, proofreading and quality control. This part involves:

Ensuring the content briefs you created were followed by the writers to the highest standard.
Checking tone, voice and style match the website the content is for and what you detailed in your brief.
Guiding, advising and supporting our writers and the members of the team who use writing in their roles.
Proofing and editing smaller pieces of work from the team - things like emails, newsletters, process documents. These will usually require a quick turn around.

Checking writings for:

clarity and readability
Signposting, linking, and anchor text
length of sentences, paragraphs and sections
unnecessary duplication, plagiarism, and irrelevant information
spelling, grammar and formatting (U.S English)

The skills you need for this part of the role:

A beyond-excellent command of written English.
A keen eye for detail
Interpersonal skills. You need to be able to communicate criticisms and feedback to writers that won’t discourage. Open communication on writing and language skills with writers and team members is encouraged.
Self motivation. Not everything you edit is going to match your interests or require colourful writing but they will require the same attention to detail and level of care.
