Warehouse Manager


GENUINE AUTOPARTS LTD is seeking a skilled and well-organized Warehouse Manager to support the department in all aspects of daily warehouse practices and processes for our office in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Job Description
The successful candidate, will work from our office in Sofia, Bulgaria and will be responsible for managing our warehousing processes on a day-to-day basis, which will allow us to achieve our corporate goals and support our dynamic business development.

Reporting: The successful candidate will report to the Senior Warehouse Manager and Managing Director of the company.

Supervision: He/ She will be required to supervise the members of the warehouse team.

Key Responsibilities

• Learning to use our internal workflow system, to accomplish tasks ranging from adding reference descriptions to attributing daily tasks of the department personnel
• Planning and assigning daily and weekly tasks. Co-creating the weekly warehouse schedule of task attribution
• Assisting the Senior Warehouse Manager to successfully manage the daily work load and meet deadlines
• Responsibility for the overseeing of the timely flow of production work on a day-to-day basis
• Guaranteeing compliance with all safety rules, as well as responsibility for monitoring and maintaining warehouse marking
• Estimating the weekly workload of the warehouse team, so that customer invoicing is carried out according to requirements and plans
• Monitoring warehouse operations, in order to maintain and even improve them, so as to meet productivity and quality goals
• Overseeing the preparation, weighing, sorting, packing, piking and unpacking, that the operatives execute
• Filling in records and/or inspection protocols for ramps, racks, equipment in accordance with general rules/laws of Bulgaria
• Controlling logistics and ensuring correct documentation concerning the quantity and quality of goods received/shipped
• Controlling and planning the sourcing of stocked packaging materials, working with other departments as required
• Clarifying reception issues and claims with department operatives, and both Purchase and Sales Managers
• Coordinating and guaranteeing smooth operational flow, in cooperation with Sales, Transport and Purchase Managers
• Arranging the regular removal (selling) and recycling of excess wood, boxes, plastic and paper
• Creating or updating procedure tutorials for various repetitive actions of the department
• Giving guidance and assistance for the annual Stock inventory count, resolving any issues that may occur
• Organizing additional forklift services provided by the logistics department of the business park
• Handover and receive envelopes to and from courier companies managing all the details with the drivers
• Enter data into our own bespoke software, pointing out necessary software improvements in the processes
• Recognizing and sharing Workflow (software system) malfunctions with our IT department
• Deal with the entire processes of returns, demolitions, claims and wrong receptions
• Running Basic weekly Forklift/VNA maintenance checks (tire pressure, oil level and antifreeze level check, battery, etc.)
• Head warehouse weekly meetings, leading team discussions and answer any concerns, according to our policy and rules
• Participate and contribute to the Manager’s weekly meeting
• Ensuring that the team members responsible for the daily cleaning of interior/exterior space do their work well
• Overseeing the correct storing of all the solid plastic and cardboard pallets in the warehouse
• Pass Fire Safety licensing and other relevant licensing/training required under Bulgarian Law
• Prevent and treat any issues that arise and are relevant to the warehouse operational area and activities
• Handle warehouse internal and external communication, phone calls and e-mails
• Open and/or close the warehouse facilities
• Participating in HR meetings with selected candidates for the staffing of the warehouse department
• Welcome and guide visitors according to the set rules of the company


Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements:

The successful candidate will have strong emotional and social skills, show attention to detail, work independently, be results-driven and have the ability to ‘think outside the box’ when it comes to solving internal challenges. The candidate must also have the ability to build and maintain relationships across all areas of the company, demonstrating strong leadership and driving to execute new strategies to aid in the company’s growth. Ideally will be a licensed Forklift operator and display reliable and strong work ethics, able to apply his/her analytical skills. The ideal candidate will also have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Organization related field, and be fluent in both Bulgarian and English. Candidates with knowledge in Logistics or Supply Chain is desirable, and experience in Warehouse Operations is preferred. Strong IT skills, all that are included in Microsoft Office, a requirement.


Desirable:

International experience (i.e., outside Bulgaria); knowledge of at least one other language; previous identical experience of at least 5 years. We would actively encourage potential employees from outside Sofia and welcome the extra experience they can bring to the role. To be First Aid certified and have VNA driving experience will also be a clear advantage.
