IT Service Delivery Specialist | Database

Summary

Be part of IT Global IT Operations at LDC Company to ensure that all IT Services related to support activities for our critical Data Center environment are delivered effectively and efficiently ensuring business continuity. Ensure compliance with all of our ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem, request, and event management).As a part of this organization, we target continuous services improvement initiatives to bring efficiency and improvement for our environment. To be part of IT Services Operations, you need to be flexible and able to adapt itself to the evolution of IT solutions. You are a key player in the relationship among all of the other IT areas and external partners, including projects and applications teams.

Main Responsibilities

Along with the below listed responsibilities, the employee should conduct any other business related to the function as required by his supervisor.

Must guarantee service operations and continuous improvement of all database environments.

Day to day operations:

- Responsible for the optimal functioning of the database, linked with the respective applications and tools
- Implements tools to ensure data consistency
- Performs a permanent inventory and manages the different components
- Monitors and analyzes performance, implements measures likely to improve the quality or productivity
- Monitors, controls, and supports service delivery; ensuring systems, methodologies, and procedures are in place and followed
- Ensures excellent communication and collaboration between Applications and Infrastructures teams
- Executes and coordinates general housekeeping activities
- Documents promote and control his scope
- Validates Backup / Restore activities
- Follows up internal and external audit requests
- Ensures inventories/CMDB is accurate

Processes:

- Ensures the incident and problem management process are correctly applied
- Ensures documentation is in place for all moves in/to production
- Monitors incidents, organize identification of the root cause, coordinate actions to restore services
- Continuous improvement
- Develops Left Shifting approach with monitoring teams (L1)
- Facilitates and implements automation as possible
- Develops the rules for using the systems, following the norms and standards of the company
- Proactively supports the opportunity for standardization and simplification of the support processes, to increase efficiency within the organization.
- Ensures that the support model of the service is operational and adapted
- Takes corrective/proactive actions whenever required
- Ensures processes, best practices, and golden rules alignment and adoption based on guidelines
- Proactively drives opportunity for standardization, simplification, and improvement of the IT support processes, to increase efficiency within the IT organization to deliver better services.
- Proactively drives legacy management, security vulnerability recovery, and DRP testing.

Experiences

- Experience on Infrastructure Maintenance Support in a very diverse IT landscape with a strong focus on database technology
- Proven experience in production environments / critical operations
- ITIL Foundation certified

Technical knowledge:

- Proficiency in managing MSSQL Databases
- Version MSSQL 2008 to 2019
- Azure PaaS Databases
- Good knowledge of the constraints and drivers to use virtualization or physical implementations of databases
- Proven experience in operating high availability implementations (SQL Clusters, Availability Groups…)
- Proven experience in leveraging MSSQL replication solutions
- Proficiency in managing Oracle Databases
- Versions 12c to 18c
- Good knowledge of Oracle administration
- Proven experience in managing RAC or Data guard implementations
- Basic Windows Server and Linux System
- General understanding of backup solutions and their impact on Databases
- General understanding and if possible a proven record track on working with - -Databases and a job scheduler
- General understanding of monitoring solutions and their integration with Databases
- PostGre Databases (as a nice to have)

- NB! On-call duty expected

- Effective Communication - Excellent communication, analytical and report-writing skills.
- Strong commitment and ability to work under pressure
- Flexibility, ability to manage a demanding, and changing workload.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and time efficiently
- Experience with Global environments
- Availability to work out of business hours when necessary
- Flexibility for business travel

Required Languages: English (Fluent)

Required Education: Master degree (or equivalent) in a related field
