PART TIME TEACHER – ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - ART


WHAT WE SEEK:
The Teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success.


PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s Degree (Preferably in Arts)
  • Teachers must be fully credentialed or certified for their respective assignments with two or more years of successful teaching experience;
  • Excellent English - written and spoken
  • Operational knowledge of the Internet and related technologies;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Work independently with little direct supervision;
  • Work as a part of a team;
  • Accept responsibility and be self-motivated;
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic to achieve academic goals;
  • Display effective multi – tasking and time management skills.
  • Experience in making different kinds of art products

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the other ES Art Teacher to provide a consistent art program for ES students
  • Collaborate with other ES faculty and staff in Art program and across ES initiatives and work with students.
  • Plan, prepare and teach art lessons for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
  • Supervise students and hold students accountable for meeting behavior expectations in class, throughout the school and school grounds, and on the field trips.
  • Develop in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with school guideline
  • Be strong role models and promote a positive and professional image for the school in the greater community.
  • The part-time position would involve teaching in a 6 day rotation --> 3 days of teaching two classes; 2 days of teaching 1 class; and 1 day no classes (Overall this equals to 4 hours working day)

KEY TASKS:
  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences;
  • Develop scheme of work and lesson plans;
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities;
  • Prepare classroom for class activities;
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities;
  • Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students’ varying needs;
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment;
  • Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development;
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments;
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students;
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development;
  • Update all necessary records accurately and completely required school regulations;
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures;
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school;
  • Participate in extracurricular activities such as sporting activities, clubs and student organizations;
  • Participate in department school and parent meetings;
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs;
