Technical Support Engineer

Have excellent spoken and written english
Be self employed or prepared to be self employed
Have your own professional indemnity insurance
Have more than 4 years practical and recent experience in IT helpdesk support
Be ready to work from home (need a good internet connection)
Accept the advertised gross pay - it is not net
Have qualifications from two or more of the following:

Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT)
Cisco Certified Technician (CCT)
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing & Switching
CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ (ITF+)
Comp TIA A+
CompTIA Network+
CompTIA Security+
Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA)
Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
Apple Certified
Amazon or Azure Cloud Certified
Linux Certified

Job Description Summary:
To provide technical support as part of Spirit's helpdesk services. We use a ticketing system for all support, your role will be to deal with all remote support requirements - mainly regular Wintel support, application support, network and server device support. You will keep the technical databases up to date which include client details - you will need to work in a secure location and exercise the utmost discretion and confidence. You will be working in the frontline remote support team handling tickets and providing remote support to users over the phone, via Teamviewer and Logmein. The UK team is responsible for onsite project work and being your hands on the ground, you will be working alongside the team providing your expertise to enhance and improve their capability. You will report into the UK team support leader.

The technical team work 3 different shifts - 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm & 10am-6pm (UK time)
Your working hours will initially be 9-5 Monday to Friday, with an hour for lunch.
The team also have an on-call rota for out of hours emergency calls (evenings & weekends). Engineers receive a bonus to compensate depending on resolution time.

Additional Requirements (YOU SHOULD HAVE several of these to qualify)
Solid working knowledge of MS O365, Google & PCs / Servers and related technologies
Cloud knowledge of Azure, AWS or equivalent
Excellent knowledge of ESXi and/or HyperV systems
Understanding of StorageCraft of other DR backup tools
Knowledge and practical experience of Security tools and portals
Experience of vulnerability scanning & patch management
Excellent networking & security knowledge (firewalls, endpoint security)
Wireless networking and knowledge or portals - Meraki, Draytek, Datto, etc.
Knowledge of products such as Synology, Draytek, Cisco, VoIP & Telephony advantageous
Knowledge of WhatsUpGold, Ping Plotter or similar tools useful
Professional qualification in a related subject - Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, Cloud
Powershell, scripting or other automation tools
Logmein scripting and management of computers to push out software or perform tuning
Upgrades of network and other infrastructure components.
Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
