Product Manager – Professional Services

POSITION PURPOSE:

We are seeking a Product Manager to build and continually evolve a suite of web-oriented professional services such as web design, basic web development, and system administration services. This role will define our initial menu of services based on customer demand and will ensure these services are competitively priced, well documented, and can be fulfilled in a scalable and consistent manner. Working closely with the fulfillment team, the PM will continually optimize the onboarding and fulfillment process so that all customer expectations are accurately set, and that those expectations are always exceeded.
The right candidate will have an inner entrepreneurial drive and a passion for delivering an excellent value and customer experience. Since this position will be fully accountable for the overall profitability of all products in their portfolio, in depth understanding of business concepts such as gross margin analysis, forecasting, and contract negotiations are a must. Experience in qualitative service delivery, such as design, development, or consulting services and how to effectively quote and track the delivery of these services is critical.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain the official catalog of professional services we offer to our customers, including the pricing methodology and detailed descriptions behind each service.
• Develop and continually optimize the onboarding and fulfillment process, from drafting templates for Statements of Work to determining how best to track and monitor the various stages of service delivery.
• Collaborate with the fulfillment team to develop a capacity model to scale the team as the development pipeline and demand grows.
• Work with customer service, accounting, operations, and support to ensure that all aspects of the customer experience, provisioning & fulfillment, billing, and technical support are running smoothly and collaborate with department heads to optimize processes as needed.
• Continually research competitors, market trends, and new technologies to ensure our suite of services is always one step ahead.
• Lead the effort to develop unique differentiators that enhance the value of our packages and set us apart from competitors.
• Act as an internal advocate for customers, championing their needs and representing their interests at all meetings and internal discussions.
• Participate in significant partner and customer acquisition opportunities as the company’s principal subject matter expert for all assigned services.
• Ensure that all product related information presented to customers – whether in support documentation, or in system generated e-mails, or in the on-line order form is accurate, concise, and compelling.
• Be a powerful advocate and thought leader by representing assigned product lines and channels in webinars, speaking engagements at industry events and blog contributions.


DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of 3-5 years of management experience in a service delivery organization such as an ad agency, web development shop, consulting company or similar web-based services.
• Bachelor’s degree (engineering, marketing, business, or related field).
• Technical and business knowledge of web development, design, and system administration.
• Experience with client-based project management tools such as Basecamp
• Strong planning and project management skills.
• Ability to understand and write technical documentation.
• Experience working in a driven, dynamic environment.
• Strong collaborative skills and the ability to be speak openly with customers in the interest of getting direct feedback on our product suite.
• Able to effectively operate in a matrix organization - coordinating people and resources from multiple areas of the company
