TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST

The Anglo-American School of Sofia (AAS) is a private international school with 50 years of history.

As a result of current opening, we are looking to hire:

TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST
The Technical Support Specialist will work with the Information and Communication Technology department to provide efficient and reliable computer services, and enhance the teaching and learning environment. The Technical Support Specialist will also provide technical advice and support to teachers, Teaching Assistants and the Administration team of the school to ensure the effective use of technology. The Technical Support Specialist reports to the ICT Manager but his/her responsibilities are to support the entire school program under the Director.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor degree in the field of ICT, Computer science
  • Technical knowledge of PC and Apple desktop, laptop, and tablet hardware and software;
  • Experience with Windows and Mac OS installation, deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting;
  • The ability to operate and troubleshoot hardware and software components
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation;
  • Expertise in the use of Google Applications and GSuite Management Console;
The requirements below are considered advantages:
  • Master's Degree
  • Experience with imaging/cloning computer software solutions.
  • At least an intermediate level of Windows server experience, preferably with certification on Active Directory with focus on users permissions, files shares and understanding of DNS and DHCP;
  • Additional Windows certifications

OVERVIEW OF EXPECTATIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

System Infrastructure:

  • Monitor, install and perform maintenance on computer hardware, software, peripherals and network equipment.
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new computer software and hardware.
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting to resolve computer hardware and software problems (basic repairs, defective parts replacement, software compatibility issues, etc.).
  • Ensure that a sufficient supply of consumable items such as printer toners is maintained and request reordering if necessary.
  • Provide assistance to the ICT Service Delivery Manager with problem resolution, server maintenance and administration.
  • Provide application support for standard school software applications (such as installations, updates, how-to’s, etc.) and document procedures.
  • Resolve network printer problems (software installations, updates, paper jams, connectivity issues, toner changes and availability etc.).

Administrative :
  • Provide support in responding to system user requests;
  • Maintain the hardware inventory database with new and updated equipment;
  • Maintain a comprehensive log of all support requests;
  • Maintain the school MS Active directory and Google apps domain, by adding, deleting and updating user and computer accounts;
  • Support and create other student and staff system accounts as needed.
