IP Operations Engineer, Tier 2

Role Summary:

The Enterprise Operations Center team manages and maintains the top tier enterprise customers for GTT during the European business hours (8hr shifts between 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday). The team are highly skilled ICT engineers who are responsible of deliver a world-class customer experience


Main Responsibilities:

  • Tier 2 IP support for customer incidents and long term problems
  • Owns incidents, resolves them swiftly and drives through to final fix, working with customers and other internal and external teams as appropriate.
  • Working with the vendors TACs in regards to platform issues
  • Provides concise and relevant action plans for teams to resolve network and customer issues efficiently..
  • Working on broad range of IP services and products: L2 and L3 VPN, WAN optimization, SDWAN, etc
  • Uses detailed understanding of operational capabilities to support operations acceptance of new infrastructure and non-standard bids.
  • Pro-active problem management based on technical and trend analysis to ensure service stability and preventative action taken where possible
  • Configuration of network elements and migration of services
  • Ensure operational processes are followed and deliver best-in-class technical support while maintaining a stable and resilient network.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 2 years experience within Operations environment of a Service Provider or System Integrator
  • Minimum two years of work in a technical IP support position.
  • General knowledge of telecom industry and standards
  • Excellent fault diagnostics and trouble-shooting abilities
  • Good to have basic knowledge of SD-WAN, WAN optimizations, NFV, security, hosting


IP

  • Good and demonstrable experience of IP, MPLS and routing knowledge (BGP, OSPF) in an ISP and enterprise environment
  • Good Cisco hardware and IOS knowledge, Juniper/JUNOS experience is a benefit
  • General knowledge or telecom industry, operational processes and standards.
  • Qualification: CCNP /JNCIS or equivalent knowledge
