Business Systems Analyst

"Honeybee Solutions" is a cutting-edge software company creating a no-code platform for building enterprise grade customer journeys.

We are looking for an experienced and technically-competent Business Systems Analyst to help design the next version of our honeybee platform. Reporting into the Head of Technical Product and working closely with the delivery team you will have had experience working on fast paced digital projects from start through to launch and beyond.

Confident working in an agile fashion you’ll be taking a leading role in the team helping us to develop and deliver major new functionality to an industry-leading platform that is already in use by global clients such as Apple and Sprint. The honeybee software is about pushing the boundaries of what is possible in terms of turning product vision into working software with the minimum of friction and the successful candidate will show how they can contribute to this vision.

You will elicit, analyse, specify and validate the requirements of the business product owner, architect and other product stakeholders and the right candidate will also be able to contribute requirements and suggestions based on their own experience and insight. Although this is a technical role we are a start-up organisation and so you will need to lead by example and rapidly produce high quality output that sets the bar for the other analysts. You will be expected to own the detailed product components and make decisions on how they should behave as well as owning and managing the non-functional requirements for the product. Aside from senior stakeholders you will need to be expected to work on a day to day basis with other Business Systems Analysts, Business and Technical Product Owners, Technical Architects, UX Designers, Developers and Quality Assurance Analysts.

Main Details and Responsibilities
  • Strong communicating, analytical and problem-solving skills which will be used to support the extraction and elaboration of requirements and their conversion into development specifications.
  • Collaborating with business product owners to determine product scope, ensuring features deliver agreed client value with appropriate priorities.
  • Creating, agreeing and documenting requirements through workshops, use case analysis and other methods.
  • Interpretation of requirements into feasible options and communicating back to business product owners and other product stakeholders, as well as the product delivery team.
  • Identifying and establishing the scope and parameters of requirements analysis. Able to determine success and alternative paths, documenting appropriate acceptance criteria accordingly.
  • Identification of gaps in the requirements and actively seek to plug those gaps by speaking to the relevant colleagues and proposing solutions.
  • Definition and documentation of non-functional requirements and getting these approved and signed off by the right stakeholders.
  • Performing presentations to business product owners and product stakeholders on upcoming functionality planned or at other stages of the development lifecycle.
  • Creating, authoring and performing demonstration of products.
  • Working as the key member of a scrum team in providing direction, prioritisation and product support.
  • Breaking down level zero requirements into features (level 1 requirements), user stories (level 2 requirements) and acceptance criteria (level 3 requirements) including determining priority of each collected requirement.
  • Translating conceptual requirements into functional requirements and/or user stories in a clear / testable manner that is comprehensible to developers and testing team members using agile techniques.
  • Creating process models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to developers and other project team members.
  • Developing and conducting peer reviews of the business & technical requirements to ensure that they are correctly interpreted.
  • Assisting with Quality Assurance and User Acceptance testing of solutions to ensure that key requirements have been built and delivered correctly.
  • Contribution to product user guides, best practices and help documentation.

Required Skills
  • Experience of minimum 5 years in working on Digital or Ecommerce related projects is desirable
  • Ability to demonstrate stakeholder management and effective communication skills
  • Extensive experience of working within an Agile team structure, preferably SCRUM and being able to articulate an understanding of the SDLC
  • Ability to create systematic and consistent requirement specifications in the form of user
  • stories
  • Ability to take a leading and decision-making role in the direction of the detailed technical product components
  • A positive and flexible approach required to operate in a constantly changing environment
  • A flexible approach to day to day tasks with an ability to manage multiple deliverables across a variety of stakeholders
  • Comfortable presenting and demonstrating products to internal colleagues
  • Experience of being a product owner is a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of Jira and Confluence is a plus
