Sensata is seeking a Global Project Engineer to support expansion of Independent Aftermarket (IAM) business outside of Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) applications.

Working closely alongside a global and cross-functional team, this role will refine, standardize, and manage the end-to-end process of New Product Development (NPD) for Aftermarket (AFM).


  • Support Core Aftermarket (Sensata products outside of TPMS) expansion, including growth within established categories and introduction of new categories;
  • Quickly and accurately launch aftermarket items in line with business priorities and customer needs with a focus on Vehicles in Operation / Sensors in Operation (VIO / SIO);
  • Review production part information (BOMs, Drawings), identify required end product for AFM, and lead the product setup / launch through direct and indirect efforts;
  • Direct efforts to include creation of new part drawings for AFM;
  • Indirect efforts to include coordination of the New Product Development (NPD), Engineering Change Order (ECO), and Oracle Product Registration processes across relevant functions;
  • Identify and collaborate with key cross-functional team members, including Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Process Engineering, and PMT;
  • Refine and standardize the New Product Development (NPD) process for Core Aftermarket, and lead process alignment across global Make sites;
  • Assess opportunities to sell excess / obsolete items into AFM channels, and and establish framework for execution;
  • Identify and lead efficiency and productivity improvement projects such as SKU consolidation / rationalization for inventory optimization and streamlined production;
  • Serve as Core Aftermarket lead for customer requests and inquiries, including samples, compatibility, technical characteristics, and other support as needed.


  • Strong understanding of fundamental project coordination/management, process understanding and mechanical engineering flexibly in unfamiliar situations;
  • At least 3 years of project management or mechanical design engineering experience;
  • Experience authoring technical drawings;
  • BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management or similar;
  • Excellent English language skills - verbal and written;
  • Strong communications and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work autonomously
