Junior Engineer, Sales

Team Description & Purpose of Role:

This role reports to Team Leader, Central Sales Engineering and fits under the Central Enterprise Sales Team, who are based in Prague, Berlin and Sofia. The team is strongly multi-national and made up of 3 principle activities — remote Account Management, Sales Engineering & Sales Administration Support.

Job Responsibilities

To provide tech admin and technical support to the Central account sales teams, including but not limited to:

  • Taking primary responsibility for completing DCF (Data Capture Form) with valid and sufficient information for operations to process / deliver effectively including updates, changes added / implemented to the services at a later stage.
  • Timely management of DCF document during the delivery and throughout the service lifecycle leading to more efficient process contributing to shorter delivery lead times.
  • Information management across different types of Data Capture Forms (VPN for Cisco and Juniper, voice, video, Lync)
  • Understanding of technical design and diagram created by the regional or senior Sales Engineer.
  • Work with line manager on streamlining the DCF process and actively participate on process improvement.
  • OLO bid support.
  • Capacity Checks.
  • Pricing Tool Support.
  • Visio Support.
  • Customer project specific tech admin / tech support.
  • Providing technical back up support and responding to regional or Central teams’ technical enquiries in timely manner.
  • Support Service delivery in liaising with the customer and making sure that all technical required information is correctly provided for the implementation of the service in respect to the committed service delivery date.
  • Report regularly to management on the life cycle of all ongoing projects, working closely with other areas of the Interoute organization such as regional sales engineering teams.
  • Taking on further admin and tech related activities upon request.

At a later stage:

  • Consultation with senior sales engineers in the regions and customers on the design and implementation of their WAN network, hosting, security and media solutions.
  • Leveraging a sound technical skill set, the SE will be able to build credible relationships across the regional sales engineering and sales teams and ultimately with clients themselves.
  • From a technical standpoint, support sales in focused sales campaigns.
  • Support Sales in the development of technical proposals, Visio diagrams, presentations and solutions.
  • Produce appropriate work instructions and technical solution documentation where relevant.
  • Making recommendations to management in respect of the appropriate technical path for the development of the client relationship as well as in respect of project facilitation, process improvement and efficiency for future.

Experience Required:

  • Technical background and 1+ year of related technical work experience.
  • Solid knowledge on IP / IPVPN/EVPN, hosting services, Security services, LAN/WAN Technologies: Ethernet, MPLS, Routing protocol, QoS, WAN optimization and other.
  • Previous experience from technical sales support environment is a Plus.
  • Maintain good awareness and interest in the ICT market and technologies.
