Corporate Security Engineer

Team Description & Purpose of Role:

The corporate security team is responsible for protecting the security of Interoute’s employees and its customers. You will work on the corporate security team to design, build and support infrastructure and services which enables Interoute to operate in a fast, agile and secure way at a scale.

The ideal candidate will share the passion we have for engineering solutions for often complex security problems and integrating with the business in a seamless and productive manner.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the security posture of corporate infrastructure and tools
  • Deploy and maintain information security systems for the Interoute Corporate estate
  • Build tools and automation to improve the security of the corporate services as the main security technical engineer in project teams
  • Provide security guidance on new projects and for any ongoing statistical reporting on the Corporate security posture
  • Coordinates the projects, initiative and activities of users, local Systems Administrators, and local Network Administrators to help ensure that all documented information security requirements have been met.
  • Provides a first level information security review of feasibility studies, upgrade proposals, implementation plans, conversion plans, outsourcing plans, and related information systems change documents
  • Brings corporate information security issues, vulnerabilities, violations, and compliance problems that have not been adequately addressed to the attention of the I.T. Support Manager via reporting mechanisms
  • Interprets information security policies, standards, procedures, and other requirements in light of local needs, and assists user department staff in the implementation of these and other information security requirements [these include data classification systems, application criticality ranking systems, and other models for coming to terms with information security needs]
  • Provides information security advice and perspective to users and management within the department, and when questions or issues cannot be resolved locally, acts as a liaison with the I.T. Support Manager

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent knowledge of network and application protocols – TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, DNS, TLS, LDAP, RADIUS, etc
  • Strong knowledge in any the following next generation firewall platforms: Check Point, Palo Alto, Juniper SRX, Cisco ASA and FireSight
  • Knowledge in any of the following secure remote access platforms – CheckPoint, Cisco, Juniper, F5, Palo Alto,
  • Experience with cloud based security technologies – Mimecast, Symantec Cloud and Gemalto
  • Experience with Vulnerability Management Solutions – Nessus and Qualys
  • Experience with SIEM systems (LogRhythm, IBM QRadar)
  • Experience with operation system hardening and end point security products. Windows, Linux and MacOS platforms
  • Experience with securing mobile platforms and MDM
  • Experience with security software such as – McAfee, Symantec, Titus, Other DLP and patching systems
  • Has knowledge or NIST, OWASP, SANs and other well-known organisations that distribute good practice standards and guidelines.
  • Understanding of internet security threats and issues
  • Fluent in English

  • Flexible approach and able to work under pressure and extended hours
