In most cases the companies select candidates whose experience and skills are closest to the position’s requirements. Greater experience and higher level of education are not an advantage, the reason being that the companies usually would like to select a candidate for whom the position will be challenging and motivating. For candidates with higher level of education and greater experience the position might be a temporary solution, which could be a problem for the company.

help_outline Should I expect to be notified that I am not among the selected candidates for interview?

Typically, the companies contact only the candidates selected for interview, which is frequently specified in the job ad itself. The reason behind this is that often the candidates for each position vary between a few hundred to a few thousand. In case the company has several active positions, it might need to contact tens of thousands of users.

help_outline Why do companies publish the same job ads over a long period of time?

The typical reasons include: companies that are just entering the market or are actively expanding; lack of sufficient suitable candidates with specialized experience and knowledge; within companies with a large number of employees it is normal to regularly have employees changing their position.
